4 KFC® restaurants managed by Scottish Food Systems, Inc., located in Laurinburg, have been named "Best of the Best" in KFC operations and customer service. The award winning restaurants are located in Lumberton, Wadesboro, Wilmington, and Gastonia. The company also had 2 KFC restaurants, located in Pembroke and Red Springs, to receive the designation of Honorable Mention.
In order to earn KFC's "Best of the Best" designation, a restaurant must have overall operational excellence and the highest scores on a standard set of Customer Mania measurements called C.H.A.M.P.S. These measurements evaluate each restaurant in six key areas of operation: Cleanliness, Hospitality, Accuracy, Maintenance, Product Quality, and Speed of Service. Only about 60 restaurants nationwide receive this honor.
